Europe’s ambitions in semiconductors are often discussed in terms of infrastructure, investment, and technological capacity. However, as highlighted in recent discussions, these elements alone are not enough to ensure long-term competitiveness.
At the core of today’s digital systems lies embedded intelligence, often invisible to users, but essential for performance, reliability, and efficiency. Chip design and embedded systems enable the functionality that modern applications depend on.
Delivering these systems requires more than just advanced facilities. It depends on a workforce with highly specialized expertise in areas such as chip design, embedded systems, and hardware–software integration. Without these skills, even the most advanced infrastructure cannot reach its full potential.
RESCHIP4EU contributes by strengthening education and training pathways aligned with industry needs. The project focuses on supporting the development of advanced skills that are directly relevant to Europe’s semiconductor ecosystem, helping prepare students and professionals to engage with increasingly complex technologies.
By connecting education, research, and industry perspectives, RESCHIP4EU supports a more balanced approach to semiconductor development, one where technical capacity and human expertise evolve together.
