From the United Nations Forum in Geneva: Education is the Ultimate Human Right and Business Investment.

Opinion Statement for the 14th UN Forum on Business and Human Rights on the critical nexus of AI, Human Rights, and Corporate Responsibility.

My core suggestion is clear: Education is the most vital, foundational human right. It is the engine for peace, prosperity, and the most powerful tool for reducing global poverty.

1. The AI Mandate: Businesses, especially the tech sector, must go beyond merely “respecting” human rights under the UNGPs. We must actively use technology to enable them.
2. AI as an Enabler: We must prevent AI from becoming a gatekeeper and instead use it to deliver affordable, high-quality, and equitable educational programs globally.
3. The Smart Investment: Investing in education infrastructure and accessibility is not philanthropy—it is a strategic and vital investment in the future workforce and the stability of global markets.

We must accelerate action to ensure AI deployment upholds equity and human dignity. I look forward to continuing this work to integrate human rights due diligence into the digital frontier.

A special thank you to UN Global Compact Network USA for their work alongside the Forum.
