EU steps up its cybersecurity framework

A stronger cybersecurity framework for Europe

The European Commission’s proposal to revise the Cybersecurity Act is a key step toward improving the EU’s ability to prevent, withstand, and respond to growing cyber and hybrid threats. The updated framework focuses on:

  • Securing ICT supply chains
  • Simplifying EU-wide cybersecurity certification
  • Clarifying cyber rules
  • Strengthening the role of ENISA in improving cyber readiness

What this means beyond policy

These changes are not only regulatory. They shape how cybersecurity is implemented in practice and influence the skills professionals need to work across sectors, systems, and borders. Effective cyber resilience depends on people who understand both advanced technologies and the frameworks that govern their safe and responsible use.
