Starting 2026 with Purpose: Skills, People, and the Future of XR
As 2026 begins, ARISE – Advanced Realities for Innovation and Skills Enhancement continues its work at the intersection of education, innovation, and opportunity.
Across Europe, demand for advanced digital and XR skills continues to grow. ARISE responds to this need by strengthening pathways that connect learners, academic institutions, and industry, supporting individuals as they prepare for high-impact careers in extended reality and related digital fields.
In the year ahead, the project will expand its reach through targeted recruitment activities, deeper academic engagement, and ongoing collaboration among partner institutions. These efforts are designed to ensure that learners not only gain technical expertise, but also develop the adaptability and critical thinking required in Europe’s evolving digital landscape.
The start of a new year is also a moment for reflection. As conversations around sustainability and responsibility continue to shape Europe’s digital agenda, skills development plays a key role. By equipping people with advanced XR competences, ARISE contributes to a workforce capable of designing and applying technology in ways that are innovative, responsible, and future-oriented.
