Hypothetical Protein Annotation Exam 3

The following analysis uses a gene expression dataset of vancomycin treated and untreated cultures from 2 resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains – C1 and T8 – at various times throughout a growth curve. The dataset was acquired from NCBI’s Gene Expression Omnibus (NCBI identifier: GSE26400). To save time, the relevant information from the series matrix and the platform files have been cleaned and provided in the attached text files. Use the files to perform the following:

• Use the 2 GSE26400data.txt files as input to iDEP and collect the needed results
• Use “Conditional Formatting” to identify hypothetical proteins from both single-gene and singular enrichment analyses
• Use GSEA and Excel to identify hypothetical proteins

Then answer the following questions
