Bio

Dr. Michelle Schwarz, Ed.D., Ph.D. is an educator, curriculum designer, and transformational coach specializing in instructional design, personal development, and leadership education. She is the founder and CEO of Althea Academy, a modern learning platform dedicated to empowering individuals through accessible, practical education that supports personal growth, professional advancement, and meaningful leadership.

Dr. Schwarz holds an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Instructional Design and Technology from Liberty University, a Ph.D. in Holistic Life Coaching from the University of Sedona, a M.A. Management from American Military University, an M.Msc. in Metaphysics from the University of Metaphysics, and a B.S. in Information Systems and Operations Management from Fairfield University. She holds certifications in Data Analysis, Data Science, AI, Entrepreneurship,and Project Management from Google, IBM, and Wharton Online.

Dr. Schwarz is a retired United States Navy and resides in the San Diego metropolitan area. She is a graduate of Syracuse University's Institute for Veterans and Military Families' (IVMF) three entrepreneurship programs: Military Founders Lab, Veteran Women Igniting the Spirit of Entrepreneurship (V-WISE), and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans (EBV).

Her work integrates research-informed learning design with whole-person development, creating educational experiences that support both professional competence and personal transformation.

In addition to her work as an academic leader, Dr. Schwarz serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of the People, where she teaches business administration and education courses to a global student community. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes learner-centered education, critical thinking, and the development of practical skills that prepare students for real-world impact.
