Bio
Dr. J. Anthony Allen is a creator of things and has been a Senior Consultant at Slam Academy, where he was a Co-Founder, Owner, and Instructor. He is also the Department Chair and an Assistant Professor in Music Business & Technology at Augsburg University and the CEO at Punkademic. He also holds the position of CTO at Ion Concert Media and was a Board Member at the American Composers Forum. In the past, he was also an Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Thomas, a Composition Coordinator at MacPhail Center for Music, and was part of the Composition and Songwriting Faculty at McNally Smith College of Music.
He uses his background as a composer to inform whatever he sets his mind to creating, whether it’s music for an orchestra, a business, an app, a new electronic instrument, or ideas for his next composition (ask him about sailing the Arctic in nonstop sunlight).
